Company History

Telkamp House Moving is a third generation, family owned business based in Brookings, South Dakota. It was started by Lee Roy Telkamp in 1955 because a friend needed to move a local school house. This challenge set the ball in motion for a lifetime in the structural moving industry. Lee Roy carefully guided his son, Randy, around the field teaching him everything he could until his retirement in 1973. Randy was eager to take the reins and started experimenting with building "toys for the field" on the side.

By 1980, Randy launched Telkamp Transportation Systems Inc., his full line of house moving equipment. Currently, Randy leads Telkamp House Moving and Telkamp Transportation Systems Inc. He is passing down all of his house moving skills to his son that also works for the family business. Telkamp's long history in house moving exemplifies the dedication and passion they have in their work.
